Website Design Prices in South Africa (2026)

A well-designed website can be built in more than one way. We offer a focused approach for businesses with a clear brief and a tighter budget, and a more extensive design process for projects that need a bespoke direction.

For a straightforward five-page website with content and branding supplied, around R9,500 is a useful starting budget for our wireframe-to-development approach. For a design-led project, plan for R22,500 or more. The final quote depends on the layouts, content and functionality involved.

Choosing an approach

Two approaches to a well-designed website

Wireframe to development

A practical option when you know what your website needs to say and can supply your logo, images and written content.

We begin with wireframes: simple page layouts that show where the content will go. Using established layout patterns helps us agree on the structure efficiently. We then develop the site in WordPress, applying your branding and refining the typography, spacing and mobile layouts.

The budget works best when the content is ready, the page structure is agreed early and the features are straightforward. It allows less room for exploring alternative design directions or changing the structure during development.

Budget guide: Around R9,500 for a straightforward five-page site, subject to the brief.

Design led website

A more extensive approach when the website needs a distinctive visual direction, a more considered content structure or input from design specialists.

We spend more time understanding the business, planning the pages and developing the design before the WordPress build begins. Bespoke layouts and visual concepts can be explored and reviewed, with specialist input included where the project calls for it.

This route suits projects where the design itself needs substantial development, or where the website must communicate a complex offering. The quote reflects the planning, design work and development involved.

Budget guide: Plan for R22,500 or more, with a quote based on the project.

A smaller business can still benefit from a bespoke design, and an established business may be well served by a focused build. We recommend an approach after looking at what you need, what you already have and the budget available.

Work examples

See what the design budget pays for

Typography, image choices, spacing and page structure all affect how your business comes across. Our work examples show how those decisions translate into finished websites.

Look at how the pages read, how clearly the services are explained and how easy it is to find the next step. A good fit should be visible in the work as well as in the quote.

Cost Factors

What changes the cost of a website

Page count is a starting point, but it does not tell us how much work is involved. A short website with complex layouts or a booking system can take more work than a larger site with repeated page formats.

  • The number of different layouts

A homepage, service page and project page may each need a different design. Adding more content to an agreed layout is usually a different task from designing another page type.

  • The state of your content

Finished text, a usable logo and suitable images make the project easier to plan. Copywriting, photography, content restructuring or sorting through an old website need their own allowance.

  • How much design needs to be explored

Starting with an agreed wireframe keeps the design process focused. Developing several visual directions, bespoke graphics or detailed interactions adds work before and during the build.

  • What the website needs to do

Online payments, product catalogues, bookings, memberships and connections to other systems all need configuration and testing. We quote these against the actual requirements.

  • Moving an existing website

A redesign may involve transferring articles or products, checking existing links and planning redirects. Tell us about the current site so this work can be included in the brief.

Inclusions and boundaries

What your website quote should cover

Before work begins, the quote should identify the pages, features, design approach and responsibilities on both sides. For a standard brochure website, we would normally scope the following into the project:

Content:
The agreed WordPress pages and layouts, styled for your business.
Layouts:
Responsive layouts for desktop, tablet and mobile.
Interactions:
A contact form and the agreed enquiry links.
Basic SEO:
Basic on-page SEO setup, including page titles, descriptions and heading structure.
Testing:
Testing of the agreed pages and features before launch.
Handover:
The agreed review rounds and handover arrangements.

Copywriting, brand identity work, additional functionality and ongoing services should be identified separately. The quote is the reference for what your particular project includes.

If you need another page type, a new feature or a change to an approved layout, we discuss the additional work and its cost before proceeding. This keeps the original project manageable and makes later additions easier to plan.

Tell us what you need your website to do

Send us a little about your business, the pages you have in mind and any features the website needs. Let us know whether you have your copy, branding and images ready, and give us an indication of the budget available.

We can then recommend an approach and explain what needs to be included in the quote.
